ABOUT US

The Soweto Ministers Fraternal has been in existence since the early 1980’s. This organisation was initially known as the Soweto Ministers Fellowship. It was started by Evangelical and Pentecostal churches during the 80’s. Following that, MUCCOR was formed by the main line churches. MUCCOR was a Christian organisation on whose sole purpose was to break down the walls of apartheid under the era of the apartheid regime. In the mid-90’s the Soweto Ministers Fraternal was born as result of the formation of both these organisations, the Soweto Ministers Fellowship and MUCCOR. These were the brain child behind this ‘machine’ called the SMF – Soweto Ministers’ Fraternal. The SMF has since maintained the vision bringing unity in the body of Christ.

SMF has been able to mobilise governmental and non-governmental organisations and ministries to empower pastors/priests and their congregations. Among many organisations the SMF has worked with SAHAC, CBCO, SACC, TEASA, SAPECCC, Daikonia HIV/AIDS Ministry, UBUHLEBETHEMBA, SACLA, Crown Financial Ministries, Bible League, One Hope, ALPHA Course, African Enterprise, Open Door, Building Bridges, Ivangeli Curriculum, Africa Ministry Resources (Now known OC Africa), Moral Regeneration Movement, Heartlines, Action Against Crime, Pamoja, Christians For Peace in Africa, DAMIETA Gauteng Education Department, Church Planting Alliance, (WOBC) World Outreach Bible College, Unqcede, Joyous Radio – Internet Radio, Life for All Ministries, Bookafé Project, Transformation Africa, and many others that are currently partnered with the SMF.
